On New Year's Eve 2020, Bella, a small chihuahua, vanished from a Houston suburb. Five years later, in December 2025, she was brought to Winnebago County Animal Services in Illinois as a stray — over 1,000 miles from home. Her microchip revealed she was from Houston. Care for Pets raised funds and found a volunteer to fly her back. "She was really attached to my oldest son, and when she saw him, she was reaching out her paw," her owner said.
