Binks, a 14-year-old cat, went missing from his family five years ago. In May 2025 a kind woman named Shainy found him on Chicago's North Side and brought him to a vet to be scanned. When the chip's registered contact was unreachable, she reached out to Microchip Hunters, a volunteer group, who traced the emergency contact — Binks' owner's ex-husband. He drove through a dust storm from Indianapolis to reunite with the cat he thought was gone forever.
